Bottom of The Net
Welcome to the competition where Every Kid Gets A Shot!!!
Begninnings
The birth of the BOTN,inc and the 1UP series come from humble beginnings. My wife Rhonda and I have played, coached and refereed the game of basketball for years. We have seen and witnessed hundreds of kids use their God given abilities to win at the sport they Love. We have watched them laugh and cheer when they win and cry and sob when they lose.
The best of these EYEWITNESS accounts has to be watching the sportsmanship between the players after the game. shaking hands or giving a high five to the opposite team, whether they win or lose is something to behold. This is the one Rhonda and I never get tired of seeing.
But there is one scene that we do get tired of looking upon. It is the scene that no parent likes to see and no player likes to feel. It is the scene of not participating, in other words, not playing or getting into the game itself. This particular scene is responsible for many quitting basketball, or any sport for that matter. Kids join teams to play. Kids join teams to participate. Kids join teams to make their parents proud. when that doesn’t happen, disappointment and discontent sets in.
This is why my wife and I created this series.
In this event everyone gets a chance to show off their skills. In this event, every kid will get to make their parent proud, win or lose. At this event, every kid will leave feeling glad, proud and fulfilled.
Because at the BOTN 1UP series,
EVERY KID GETS A SHOT!!

Each Contestant will shoot two rounds of ten free throws.
Contestants who have made twelve or more shots will advance to the third / championship round.
In the third /championship round, each contestant will shoot fifteen consecutive shots. The contestant who makes the most shots will be declared the winner.
Any shooting violations (stepping on or over the foul line) will count as a missed shot and will be counted as an attempted.

BOTN Hot Shot Contest Rules
Each contestant will start at the mid –court area.
At the sound of the clock’s horn or official’s whistle, the contestant will dribble to the top of the key to make first attempt.
Each contestant will have 1 minute of clock time to score as many points as they can.
Contestants are allowed to either shoot behind a numbered mat or on it, but NOT in front of it.
The contestant will have seven spots in which to shoot to score points.
Each spot has a different numbering point value.
The contestant must make an attempt to shoot at each spot before going back to the previous one. The only exception is the one marked with the 1-point value.
On the spot marked one point, the contestant is allowed as many tries at that, but only one point from each side will be counted.
After the attempts at each spot, the contestant can shoot at any spot as many times as desired with time remaining.
Each contestant will receive two rounds. After the second round, scores will be tallied. Contestants receiving fifteen or more points will advance to the third / championship round.
The contestant who receives the most points in the third round will be declared the winner.
In the event of a tie, contestants will play an additional round until a winner is declared.
